Message From The Principal
We have kicked off a great summer and have really enjoyed the activities this summer as we try to beat the heat! Right now, we are in the midst of preparing to have an amazing Back to School season, so we would love to hear your feedback before the school session starts. As many of you already know, my door is always open, so please do reach out to me. We are quickly approaching one of my favorite events of the school year, our fundraiser for Alex’s Lemonade Stand. With this long-term project, our school agers project plan, budget, and execute the fundraiser from top to bottom. They become so excited about participating in this worthy cause. We hope you will join in as we aim to beat our goal from last year and earn $950 for Alex’s Lemonade Stand, benefiting childhood cancer research and awareness. Please review the rest of our newsletter to find out more about what’s happening at Xplor of Anderson Mill, and have a fantastic July!

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Fundraiser – July 16th – July 20th
We will be hosting a fundraiser for Alex’s Lemonade stand again this year from July 16th – July 20th. Alex’s Lemonade Stand was founded by a family that experienced childhood cancer first-hand, and aims to bring awareness and funding to childhood cancer research. Our Junior Counselor (Older School Age campers) are heading this project with the help of our School Age counselors. We will be hosting a variety of activities the week of July 16th to benefit Alex’s Lemonade Stand, so please keep your eyes peeled. If you would like to visit Xplor’s page for Alex’s Lemonade Stand, or make a donation, please visit: https://www.alexslemonade.org/mypage/1456632
The Heat Has Arrived!
We want to ensure that all children are equipped to beat the heat at Xplor. Please be sure that your child brings a water bottle to school every day labeled with his/her first and last name. We will encourage children to drink water throughout the day. Of course, if your child does not have a water botter, we will supply water and drinking cups, but we find that children tend to drink more if it’s from their own cup from home. We also encourage all children to wear sunscreen. It is advised that you put sunscreen on your child before dropping off each day, and that you bring a bottle of spray sunscreen to keep at the school for teachers to apply before outside play. Please ensure that is also labeled with your child’s first and last name.
Parents’ Night Out – Friday, July 13th
We will be hosting another Parents’ Night Out on Friday, July 13th, from 6:30PM – 10:30PM. This is a great time to enjoy an evening kid- free! The cost is $30 for the first child in the family and $15 for each additional child in the family. If you would like your child to attend Parents’ Night Out, please sign up no later than Wednesday, July 11th.
