A Note from Our Principal,
“and all at once , summer collapsed into fall.” – Oscar Wilde
Welcome fall! Pumpkins, Candy, Costumes, Trick-or-Treating, Families, and hopefully crisp fall weather; these are a few of OUR favorite things! We can’t wait to experience everything this season has to offer with our students and families. This month we will be celebrating some old traditions as well as starting some new ones. We are truly excited about the fellowship within our Xplor community that this fall will bring. We hope that you are able to attend and participate in our events!
Sincerely,
Tiffany Richards
Sweater Weather
It’s time to change out those summer clothes for appropriate fall wear. I know the weather here in Texas is quite unpredictable but let’s make sure we prepare for the season ahead by making sure we switch out those tank tops and shorts for long sleeved shirt and long pants. It’s always a good idea to have a sweater on hand as well as we go outside every day, sometimes twice a day, and we don’t want any of our students to miss out! As always, make sure all jackets, mittens, hats, and any clothing items are labeled as we would hate for your items to get lost.
Little Cesar’s
Thank you in advance for participating in the Little Cesar’s pizza fundraiser! You guys always pull through in a great way. October 8th-22nd
Think Pink!
October is Breast Cancer awareness month so join us in showing support by wearing pink on Wednesdays all this month!
Each year we hold a Pumpkin Auction for breast cancer where each class will get to decorate a pumpkin and then you, the parents, will place a bid to win the pumpkin of your choice. All proceeds will go to Susan G. Komen so may the highest bidder win! Good Luck!
Public School Reminders
Our local public schools will be closed for Columbus Day, October 8th but we have a full day of fall themed fun for our school-age students. The school-age students will also have early release on October 12th. Please make sure to add an extra $15 if your child will be here on the 8th and an extra $12 for early release on the 12th. As always, let the front office know if your child will not attend either of these days or will not need to be picked up from school.
Trunk-Or-Treat
We are so excited to announce our first ever community wide Trunk-Or-Treat on October 19th! This will be a fun and safe event where your kids can trick-or-treat with their friends from Xplor as well as get to know new people from the neighborhoods around us. Make plans to attend now and help us out by spreading the word to your neighbors, friends, and others in the community! You are sure to have a Spook-tacular time!
Halloween Classroom Parties & Parade!
We will hold our Halloween parties and costume Parade on October 31st at 3:30pm in the afternoon. We want to encourage our parents to join us and the children are encouraged to wear their costumes as long as it doesn’t interfere with eating and toileting. We also want you to keep our most sensitive ones in mind when choosing your costume this year. Since we will be having a parade and showing off our costumes it is important that we are wearing family friendly costumes that are not scary or promote violence in any way. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter and we hope to see you all there as this will be a wonderful chance for photos!

A note from the education team:
From stuffed animals to family pets, children have an innate love for animals. In our classrooms, animal-themed activities are always exciting and engaging for the children. For instance, teachers may transform the dramatic play center into a veterinary office and provide children with stuffed animals, toy doctor props, a pencil,[.....]
