A Note from Our Principal:
December is upon us and with the holiday season brings a busy schedule! We have a great month ahead filled with lots of fun for our families!
We have kicked off our holiday giving season with our Toys for Tots Drive. We are collecting toys now through December 6th. On the evening of December 6th, we will load up all the toys and with the help of our school age students, we will deliver those toys to the marines at the Allen Event Center from 6:00pm-7:00pm. If you are interested in your school age student being a part of the toy delivery, please sign up at the front desk! Check out the flyer below for all the information on our Toys for Tots drive and encourage your co-workers to contribute as well! We have 6 large boxes we would love to deliver filled with toys!
We have several great holiday events happening all month long, so mark your calendars. We will start the month off with our Lil’ Shoppers Shoppe Fundraiser, Breakfast with Santa, and continue the month with a winter dress up week, our holiday class parties and book exchange, the winter musical, and Polar Express Day! We will be sending out various reminders of all these events and hope all of our parents can join us! The month may be a busy one, but it is sure to be a fun and memorable one! Please check your child’s end of the month folder each month for the upcoming monthly calendar, menu and all our events! You may also located printed copies at the front desk as well.
Thank you for being a part of our family here is at Xplor in Allen and allowing us to be part of your child’s life!
Inclement Weather Reminders
We do not always follow the closure schedule of the local public schools because we don’t have to contend with the same transportation issues as public schools. Our goal is to be open as many days as possible to support our working parents. If we must close because our teachers cannot safely get to work, you will receive a notification via Links 2 Home as soon as the closure is announced. We also post notifications on our website and Facebook page.
Winter Clothing Reminder
If you’ve not already done so, please check your child’s cubby to ensure they have an extra set of weather appropriate clothes. Students also need to come to school each day with a jacket and dressed warm enough to play outside for part of the day. If the weather is brisk we still go outside for active games and SPARK activities and want everyone to be able to participate!
Our school is closed on December 25th for Christmas and January 1st for New Year’s Day.
Winter Break Camp
We will be holding Winter Break Camp for our School-Age students from December 24th-January 7th. In addition to several field trips we will have community service activities, STEAM learning opportunities and holiday themed projects planned. Students may attend all or part of Winter Break Camp, please let us know by December 18th if your child will be attending. Here is a sneak peek of what we have planned for our school age winter camp.
