A Note from Our Principal,
Happy New Year! We can’t wait to spend 2019 with you and your family. Thank you to all who participated in our holiday giving initiative last month. Together with our Xplor school on Parkwood Hill we raised over 400 toys to donate to local children in the Fort Worth Housing District. We helped make their holiday a special experience. We also enjoyed having our school age school age students with us of winter break. Thank you to all who were able to join us!
Please take a moment to read through the news and reminders below and let myself t or anyone else on our administrative team know if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Shannon Bradley
Principal
Illness Policy
Our Parents are vital partners in helping us to maintain a safe and healthy environment for the students in our school. The most important thing you can do to assist us in creating a heathy environment is to keep your child home if they are ill. This reduces the spread of illness and allows your child to fully recuperate. Children may not attend school until they have been symptom free for 24 hours if they display any of the following symptoms.
Fever of 100 degrees or more- must be fever free without medication for 24 hours
Vomiting, diarrhea or upset stomach
Heavy nasal discharge requiring wiping every 30 minutes
Persistent, non-productive or barking cough
Sore throat
Skin rash including harsh diaper rash
Head Lice
Symptoms of a communicable disease
Fussy, cranky behavior unlike child’s normal behavior
Holiday Closures
Our school does not follow the local elementary school schedule as we are open more days each year. For the 2018-2019 school year the days we are closed are as follows:
- Labor Day
- Veteran’s Day (Infants through PKII are closed. School Age is Open)
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
- New Years Day
- President’s Day (Infants through PKII are closed. School Age is Open)
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
Winter Clothing Reminder
If you’ve not already done so, please check your child’s cubby to ensure they have an extra set of weather appropriate clothes. Students also need to come to school each day with a jacket and dressed warm enough to play outside for part of the day. If the weather is brisk we still go outside for active games and SPARK activities and want everyone to be able to participate!
Important Dates
1/1- Closed for New Years Day
1/11- Dallas Cowboys Dress Day
1/26- Open House for inquiring families
1/31- End of the Month Folders
