A Note From Our Principal,
Thank you all for your participation in our Kids Helping Communities initiative this summer!
Due to the on-going global health crisis and recent effects it had on the economy, many Texans are finding themselves relying on local food banks to feed their families. Unfortunately, the food banks can’t keep up with the demand due to depleted resources. We know we can help and are counting on you to help us make this happen!
We are grateful for the opportunity to watch our students serve others these past few weeks and appreciate the role you all had in this.We still have a few more weeks of summer and our teachers are hard at work preparing our classrooms for the new school year. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns in the interim.
Sincerely,
Tosha Gourley
Health and Safety Measures
The health and safety of our children and families is always our highest priority. To mitigate the risks of COVID-19 while children are in our care, we have adopted additional health and safety measures based on CDC guidelines, state and local regulations, and the American Academy of Pediatrics. Visit our school website to learn more information.
Our parents are vital partners in helping us to maintain a safe and healthy environment for the students in our school. The most important thing you can do to assist us in creating a healthy environment is to keep your child home if they are ill. This reduces the spread of illness and allows your child to fully recuperate. Children may not attend school until they have been symptom-free for 24 hours if they display any of the following:
Fever of 100 degrees of more—must be fever free for 24 hours with no fever-reducing medicine before returning to school
Vomiting, diarrhea or stomach upset
Heavy nasal discharge requiring wiping every 3-5 minutes
Persistent, non-productive or barking cough
Sore throat
Skin rash, including diaper rash
Head lice
Symptoms of a communicable disease
Fussy, cranky behavior unlike the child’s normal demeanor that may indicate illness
For more information please see our Parent Handbook or reach out to a member of our administrative team
Summer Camp Survey
We will be reaching out to camp families in the next few weeks to gather feedback on our summer camp program. The survey will be sent via email and we’d love for all camp parents to participate so we can celebrate our successes and make plans to improve our camp program next summer. Please keep an eye out for the survey!
Links 2 Home App Usage
We know that summer is a busy time for our families, and want to communicate school happenings as clearly as possible to ensure that no one is left out. As a reminder, daily reports are sent via email each day, but our Links 2 Home app keeps all school communications in one place and is always accessible. The app also allows to you communicate absences to your child’s teacher, leave drop-off notes, and read teacher and administrative notes in detail.
If you’re not a current app user, we encourage you to visit the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to download the app today. You will need to login with the email address you use for Alma. Please let us know if you have issues logging into Links 2 Home!
Enrollment for the 2020-2021 School Year
Are you planning on re-enrolling for the next school year? We hope so! Please let us know as soon as possible so that we can ensure your child is placed on the roster. Our management team is available to address any questions or concerns you have.
