A Note From Our Principal,
We hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with loved ones and we enjoyed celebrating with you all last month. As the winter holidays approach we have many special events planned for our students and families and look forward to spending time with you all. We’ve also enclosed important winter and holiday procedure reminders in this newsletter. Please read through it carefully and reach out if you have any questions, concerns. Happy Holidays!
Sincerely,

Inclement Weather Reminders
We do not always follow the closure schedule of the local public schools because we don’t have to contend with the same transportation issues as public schools. Our goal is to be open as many days as possible to support our working parents. If we must close because our teachers cannot safely get to work, you will receive a notification via Links 2 Home as soon as the closure is announced. We also post notifications on our website and Facebook page.
Winter Clothing Reminder
If you’ve not already done so, please check your child’s cubby to ensure they have an extra set of weather appropriate clothes. Students also need to come to school each day with a jacket and dressed warm enough to play outside for part of the day. If the weather is brisk we still go outside for active games and SPARK activities and want everyone to be able to participate!
Holiday Closures
Our school is closed on December 25th for Christmas and January 1st for New Year’s Day.
Winter Break Camp
We will be holding Winter Break Camp for our School-Age students from December 24th-January 4th. In addition to multiple field trips we will have community service activities, STEAM learning opportunities and holiday themed projects planned. Students may attend all or part of Winter Break Camp, please let us know by December 14th if your child will be attending. Keller ISD also has two early release days (12/18 and 12/19) as well as two in service days (12/20 and 12/21). Please be sure to let us know if we are not picking up your child for the early release days. See the front desk for information on cost for Winter Break Camp as well as the early release and in service days.
Classroom Holiday Celebrations—Friday, December 21st
Through the month of December our classes will be learning about different winter holidays and customs. On Friday, December 21st at 3:30 p.m. our classes will be holding their annual cookie decorating parties. During this event, the students get to enjoy the company of their friends and teachers as they make unique and fun holiday cookies. We will be posting sign up sheets the week before the party if you would like to sign up to bring an item for our cookie decorating. Parents and family members are welcome to attend as well!
Holiday Giving Project
As we head into what is known as the most wonderful time of the year, full of family time, lots of laughs, and unlimited memories, we would also like to spend some time at Xplor helping those who may need it most. Each year, many children in our local community go without receiving holiday gifts. From financial strains to the loss of employment, there are so many causes for families to be unable to provide their children with holiday gifts. We want to step up this year and try and help as many children as we can.
I am so excited to announce our December partnership with #everybodyloveeverybody. Starting on the national day of giving, November 27, and running through December 21, we will be collecting new and gently used toys in our lobby. All donated toys will be used to provide as many children and families located in the Fort Worth Housing Projects as we can with holiday gifts this year.
Our goal is to fill our bus with as many toys as possible by December 21. We will then deliver all the toys to the drop off site December 22 where they will then be distributed to families and children in need. While you are out shopping or cleaning out your play room, please consider donating a toy or two!
