A Note From Our Principal
Happy New Year! We can’t wait to spend 2019 with you and your children. Thank you to all who participated in our holiday giving initiative last month. We also enjoyed having our school-age students with us for winter break camp. Thank you to all who were able to join us!
Please take a moment to read through the news and reminders below and let myself or anyone else on our administrative team know if you have questions or concerns.
Sincerely,

Auto-Credit Card
Payments
With our Alma Parent Portal system, you have all of your tuition and statement needs at your fingertips! One change that we are implementing going forward is that all Auto-Credit Card payments need to be signed up for in Alma. This will allow the system to automatically and consistently process your payment on a weekly basis. To continue your credit card payments or to sign up for them to automatically be paid with a credit/debit card. To do this, please go to https://nlci1710.getalma.com/ and login using the FirstName.LastName of the primary parent. There you will need to follow the instructions for setting up a reoccurring payment. If you have any questions about who is listed as the primary parent or if you have trouble setting it up, please let us know.
Nut-Free Policy
Due to children with severe allergies, peanuts, other nuts or nut products are not allowed at Xplor Preschool and School Age. Please understand this is for the safety of many of our students. We have children in our school with severe nut allergies and any contact with them can become a health hazard.
Please make sure that any food items you pack for your child do not contain peanuts or nut products in them. This includes but is not limited to: Peanut butter, fresh nuts, granola bars with nuts, almonds, cashews, walnuts or anything cooked in peanut oil, etc. If any items are found in your child’s bag, snack or lunch we will have to return the items at the end of the day.
In an effort to assign the families of these children, we ask for a 48-hour notice when items for special events (such as birthday celebrations), are to be provided for the class. This will allow us time to notify the parents of your child’s classroom. All items must be store bought with the ingredient label provided and given to the office or kitchen on the day of the event.
Thank you for being considerate about our students who have severe nut allergies. We appreciate your understanding and assistance.
Illness Policy
Our parents are vital partners in helping us to maintain a safe and healthy environment for the students in our school. The most important thing you can do to assist us in creating a healthy environment is to keep your child home if they are ill. This reduces the spread of illness and allows your child to fully recuperate. Children may not attend school until they have been symptom free for 24 hours if they display any of the following:
- Fever of 100 degrees of more—must be fever free for 24 hours with no fever-reducing medicine bef
ore returning to school
- Vomiting, diarrhea or stomach upset
- Heavy nasal discharge requiring wiping every 305 minutes
- Persistent, non-productive or barking cough
- Sore throat
- Skin rash, including diaper rash
- Head lice
- Symptoms of a communicable disease
- Fussy, cranky behavior unlike child’s normal demeanor that may indicate illness
For more information, please see our Parent Handbook or reach out to a member of our administrative team.
Links 2 Learning Monthly Folders
Each month our teachers prepare folders that outline what your child has learned in the prior month. These folders have work samples in them and explain the skills that your child is working to master. We send these home at the end of each month and ask that they be returned a few days later. Please let us know if you have any questions about the monthly folders or about your child’s progress!
