As part of this learning experience, the children created their very own lanterns using blue construction paper as the background, yellow paper to represent the glowing light, and red construction paper to form the lantern frame. In the center, they added a bright “flame” to complete their masterpiece.
This activity was not only fun, but also supported important developmental skills. The children practiced their fine motor skills by gluing, placing, and assembling each part of their lanterns with care. They worked hard to follow steps and bring their creations to life, all while learning about how signals were once used long ago.
We are so proud of their creativity and focus throughout this project. Their lanterns turned out beautifully and truly lit up our classrooms!
Be sure to take a look at their work and ask your child about how they made their lantern.
