A Note From Our Principal,
We hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with loved ones and we enjoyed celebrating with you all last month. As the winter holidays approach we have many special events planned for our students and families and look forward to spending time with you all. We’ve also enclosed important winter and holiday procedure reminders in this newsletter. Please read through it carefully and reach out if you have any questions or concerns. Happy Holidays!
Sincerely,
Crystal
School Closure Reminders
As a reminder, we do not always follow the closure schedule of the local public schools. Our goal is to be open as many days as possible to support our working parents. If we must close for any reason, you will receive a notification via Links 2 Home as soon as the closure is announced. We also post notifications on our website.
Winter Clothing Reminder
Teachers will be checking your child’s cubby to ensure they have an extra set of weather appropriate clothes. Students also need to come to school each day with a jacket and dressed warm enough to play outside for part of the day. If the weather is brisk we still go outside for active games and SPARK activities and want everyone to be able to participate!
Holiday Closures
Our school is closed on December 25th for Christmas Day and January 1st for New Year’s Day.
Winter Break Camp
We will be holding Winter Break Camp for our school-age students from December 21st through January 4th. Students will participate in community service activities, STEAM learning opportunities, holiday themed projects and virtual activities. Students may attend all or part of Winter Break Camp, please let us know by December 7th if your child will be attending.
Classroom Holiday Celebrations—Thursday, December 17th
Through the month of December, our classes will be learning about different winter holidays and customs. On Thursday December 17th, our students will showcase their learning and the holiday décor they’ve created with a classroom celebration. Students will be celebrating with story time, crafts and a special snack. We will miss having parents attend this year’s holiday celebrations and know that you all will enjoy the holiday crafts that your student brings home!
Holiday Giving Project
This year we are partnering with Relentless Love International collecting toys for kids in Houston’s inner-city apartment complexes, where the need is the greatest!
How can you help? We would love to invite you to link arms with us to bless these precious children. There are three ways you can participate:
1). If you’re swamped for time (and who isn’t, these days?) you can visit our Amazon Registry by clicking here: https://www.amazon.com/registries/custom/31BGAHP3YLMH/guest-view
2). If you live in the Houston area and love to shop, you can always pick up toys (in the $10-$20 range) and deliver them directly to Relentless Love owner, Brittany Atkinson. She can be reached at 832-584-1508 and will be happy to meet up.
3). You can contribute directly to the ministry by using this PayPal address: relentlessloveinto@gmail.com.
We will need to have the gifts in-hand no later than December 12, 2020 and will be happy to supply a receipt for your donation.
